TEI Regions V and VI joined forces for the fifteenth TEI/IRS Liaison Meeting in Austin, Texas, in May to facilitate effective communications between TEI member companies and regional IRS personnel and to provide tax professionals with enhanced IRS audit knowledge. Thirty-two TEI members and nine IRS participants represented both Exam and Appeals. Presentation topics included organizational/LB&I strategic directional changes, an LB&I international update, LB&I issue-focused exams, and the new exam process overview, along with recent tax law changes, court decisions affecting the IRS, and an IRS appeals update.
