At the UNCC Accounting Scholarship Banquet on April 23, the TEI Carolinas Chapter awarded scholarships to five accounting students who attend universities in North and South Carolina. Among the recipients was University of North Carolina at Charlotte senior Jonathan Brown. Jonathan is majoring in accounting and currently interns in the tax department at Duke Energy Corporation. Expressing his gratitude for the $1,500 scholarship award, Jonathan explained how the scholarship will help him plan for the future. “I have surprisingly developed a growing desire to learn more about tax law, and I find the work that I do in my internship very interesting and challenging at the same time.” Jonathan hopes the scholarship will help him save in his final year of undergraduate study so he can pursue a master’s in accounting after he graduates.
