Through Ladder Up’s Tax Assistance Program in the Chicagoland area, TEI Chicago Chapter members helped to prepare over 14,000 tax returns and secure over $19.5 million in refunds for Ladder Up clients this year.
Seven chapter volunteers totaled just over 240 hours of service, with an estimated economic impact of $173,162. Those volunteers were John Mann, Angelie Thurmon, Ryan Gibbons, Ying Lu, Robert Murphy, Lorna Ekx, and Cindy Cao.
Sarah Winters, TEI Chicago’s chapter representative, received a letter of thanks from Ladder Up’s leaders, detailing the volunteers’ achievements. This work is a testament to the dedication TEI’s members show to their communities.
