Erica Larkin
Erica Larkin joined TEI in November as the Institute’s marketing and communications specialist. In her role, Larkin supports the execution of marketing and communications campaigns, enhancing TEI’s digital presence, driving member engagement, and achieving departmental goals.
Originally from Massachusetts, Larkin discovered her interest in marketing and digital strategy while earning her bachelor of science in business administration (marketing) at Elon University. She previously worked as a marketing specialist at a cybersecurity startup, where she gained experience enhancing brand visibility and optimizing campaigns. Now based in Washington, D.C., Larkin enjoys yoga, painting, and spending time with friends and family.
Steve Doran
Steve Doran joined TEI as the Institute’s director of membership in January, bringing over twenty-five years of experience in member engagement, volunteer and chapter management, and brand development.
Before joining TEI, Doran served in leadership roles focused on membership and marketing at organizations such as NIRI: The Association for Investor Relations, the NAFA Fleet Management Association, the American Society of Nephrology, the National Business Officers Association, the National Association of College and University Business Officers, and the Food Marketing Institute. Throughout his career, he has spearheaded initiatives to enhance member retention, expand engagement opportunities, and align organizational brands with strategic goals.
Doran holds a bachelor of science in business psychology from Miami University and an MBA from The George Washington University. He also holds the Certified Association Executive designation. Residing in Alexandria, Virginia, with his family, Doran enjoys tackling outdoor yard projects and is an avid Orangetheory Fitness enthusiast.
Kemper Promotion
TEI staff member Anastasia Kemper was promoted to assistant director of human resources, governance, and operations in January. Kemper joined TEI in September 2022 and has worked to improve efficiency in the organization’s operations. She will continue reporting to Executive Director Pilar Mata and assume responsibility for TEI’s human resource management for staff, office operations, and Institute governance.
