On April 3, TEI submitted comments on the European Commission’s proposals for value-added tax (VAT) in the digital age.
TEI agreed with a number of proposals aimed at standardizing and simplifying reporting requirements but identified significant opportunities to further harmonize the European VAT system, increase horizontal neutrality, and eliminate unnecessary administrative burden.
TEI’s comments were prepared by its European Indirect Tax Committee, chaired by Anna Ogenblad. The committee’s legal staff liaison is Patrick Evans, TEI chief tax counsel. Read the comments here.
