TEI’s IRS Administrative Affairs Committee members recently participated in focus group discussions with the Government Accountability Office (GAO). The focus groups were aimed at providing feedback to assist the GAO with its recommendations to Congress regarding how to improve the dispute-resolution tools available at IRS Appeals.
The focus groups were a unique opportunity for TEI members to help improve the Appeals procedures available to all taxpayers. The discussions were facilitated by a working group of the Institute’s IRS Administrative Affairs Committee, led by Kristen Bauer of Stripe. Patrick Evans, TEI chief tax counsel, supported this initiative from the TEI staff.
