A massive shout-out to everyone who contributed to the phenomenal success of our 2024 Tax Technology Seminar. We were thrilled to welcome more than 130 attendees, 120 speakers, and thirty technology exhibitors and their staff to Orlando this past month for three full days of sessions, networking, and hands-on learning.

This year’s seminar featured nearly forty sessions on a wide array of tax technology topics, including several sessions highlighting recent developments on the use of and opportunities for AI in tax departments. We added three tracks of hands-on learning this year, allowing our attendees to see and test cutting-edge tools and processes. We were also pleased to welcome Tracy Lee, Sheila Eason, and Mabeline Baldwin from the Internal Revenue Service for an enlightening Fireside Chat featuring the IRS on technology transformation, where we delved into the outlook and challenges for both the IRS and corporate taxpayers. The seminar was replete with networking opportunities, including member meetups.

One of the highlights of the Tax Technology Seminar was an AI-focused panel featuring discussion among (from left) Benjamin Alarie of Blue J, Nancy Hawkins of Thomson Reuters, Anli Chen of BDO, Neal Schneider of K1x, Jamie Eagan of insightsoftware, and moderator Belinda Buvens of Procter & Gamble.

A special thanks to this year’s planning committee, including TEI Tax Technology Committee Chair Cheria Coram, Belinda Buvens, Jess Ponzo, Kyle Fox, and Vikesh Patel for designing this special member-driven event and ensuring it reflected and met the needs of in-house tax professionals. We could not have done this without you, and we are grateful for your time and passion.
