TEI’s Seattle Chapter presented Sheri Dunn with the TEI Meritorious Chapter Service Award. Dunn retired from Weyerhaeuser Company in September 2016 and served as an officer of the Seattle Chapter board from 2007 to 2012. Dunn actively supported the annual process for the education program, using her knowledge of tax and connection to advisors to bring high-quality speakers to the Seattle market. She anticipated education programming that would benefit many companies in the market. Dunn encouraged participation by both individuals at her company and networking to bring tax professionals in the Seattle market to be actively involved with the chapter. In a networking capacity, she served as an example to others as a female leader in tax and shared her philosophy on teams, navigating tax controversy, and technical knowledge. Dunn demonstrated advocacy through active engagement to influence legislation at both the federal and state level that was relevant to companies in similar industries. She actively encouraged Seattle Chapter members to participate in national TEI committees.
