On May 20, TEI’s Cleveland Chapter honored Larry Boron, who recently retired as head of tax at Sherwin-Williams. He has been a member of TEI since 1997 and served in numerous chapter roles, including chapter president and chair of the chapter’s International Tax Committee. Boron has been a staunch supporter of TEI and has been critical to the chapter’s success, as he encouraged his staff to attend and participate in TEI actively.
BakerHostetler hosted the one-day conference where Boron was honored, with Jeff Paravano, Paul Schmidt, and many others presenting. Paravano and Schmidt shared many kind words about Boron, including the following AI-generated poem:
A toast to Larry, head of tax,
Whose work was like a well-waxed sax.
Smooth and sure, he played the game,
In the world of numbers, he made his name.
At Sherwin-Williams, he stood so tall,
Juggling figures, he managed all.
From audits to ledgers, he knew each part,
Each credit and debit, close to his heart.
Now he’s hanging up his calculator’s charm,
It’s time to rest, no cause for alarm.
For years he’s toiled, now he’ll take his bow,
Retirement’s calling, and it’s his time now.
So let’s raise our glasses, give a cheer,
For Larry Boron, we hold so dear.
May his days be merry, full of delight,
Happy retirement, Larry, from morning till night!
