The Baltimore-Washington Chapter recently held its annual Washington Nationals/CPE event in May. A morning of continuing professional education followed by an afternoon of baseball proved a great combination. Kevin Maillet, Baltimore-Washington Chapter president, kicked off the day with a warm welcome to all participants. PricewaterhouseCoopers followed with an excellent and informative CPE program on unclaimed property, a state and local tax update, and a technology presentation on Alteryx and Tableau. Since these software programs have been in the news, that session drew rapt attention. The day’s indoor events concluded with a buffet lunch of burgers, hot dogs, and accompaniments. The group then went out to excellent seats and perfect spring weather to watch the Nationals beat the Pittsburgh Pirates. Not surprisingly, this event has become a highlight of the Baltimore-Washington Chapter’s year.
