TEI’s Atlanta Chapter held a full-day CPE event on May 18 at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel and Convention Center. The event, which Ernst & Young sponsored, began with a tax accounting update presented by Matt Tisdel and Adam Bean. Steve Skor then presented on the new Section 987 regulations. After a lunch break, Dan White and Brice Bostian discussed the mergers and acquisition landscape including post-merger tax risks and considerations. A discussion on state impact and considerations around tax reform followed, presented by Sid Silhan, Russ Snider, and Brooks McElyea. Jeff Thompson and Matt Davidson followed with an update on sales and use tax. Dominic Mackey and Jay Bezek led the final discussion, on trends in VAT and global customs and trade.
