This year marked the eighth successful year of the TEI Atlanta (Georgia) Chapter scholarship program. During this past academic year, the Atlanta Chapter awarded three scholarships of $1,500 each to students studying tax or accounting at a college or university within the metropolitan Atlanta area. The Atlanta Chapter invited the scholarship recipients and representatives from the colleges and universities to a chapter meeting to enjoy lunch and a presentation from guest tax professionals. The first scholarship recipient was Kali V. Mitchell, an accounting major at Berry College, and the second scholarship recipient was Jerrico D. Middlebrooks, an accounting major at Mercer University, Stetson School of Business. The third scholarship recipient, Ludovic Kirby, is an accounting and finance major at Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business. Kirby recently completed his bachelor’s degree and is pursuing his master’s degree. The Atlanta Chapter is both proud and humbled to have awarded a total of $27,000 to twenty students from eight different metro-Atlanta colleges and universities through its scholarship program to date. The chapter looks forward to helping more deserving and outstanding students in the years to come.
