TEI is excited to introduce new staff members that have recently joined our team in Washington, D.C.
Jamea Rouse, Member and Chapter Services Coordinator
Jamea Rouse joined TEI as its member and chapter services coordinator this past November. She brings eight years of nonprofit experience to TEI, with seven focused on membership. Rouse is well-versed in membership onboarding, recruitment, retention, and compliance and holds certifications in association membership growth and creative marketing.
Rouse graduated magna cum laude from North Carolina A&T State University with a bachelor of arts in psychology and a minor in criminal justice. She is a D.C. native and enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
Jentry Whitehurst, Events Coordinator
Jentry Whitehurst joined TEI in April and is delighted to serve as TEI’s new events coordinator. As events coordinator, she shoulders a wide array of responsibilities to guarantee the success of every event. This includes meticulous event planning and coordination, managing logistics, overseeing on-site operations, conducting thorough post-event evaluations, and more.
Originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia, Whitehurst discovered her passion for planning events while pursuing her bachelor of science in business administration at the University of Mary Washington. She currently lives in Arlington, Virginia, with her two cats, Shadow and Sailor. She loves spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants, and reading.
Paul Riley, IT and Web Support Specialist
Paul Riley joined as TEI’s IT and web support specialist in April, where he provides crucial support in managing the institute’s IT infrastructure and web platforms. He has nine years of experience in the technology and IT fields and served in the United States Marine Corps, where he honed his problem-solving, leadership skills, and attention to detail. Riley graduated from Liberty University magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in information technology, with a focus in data and application development.
Riley lives in Washington, D.C., and is passionate about traveling, playing soccer, and going to events and concerts in the area. He has traveled to over a dozen countries and plans to see as many as he can.
Tracy Gibbs, Director of Finance and Accounting
Tracy Gibbs joined as TEI’s director of finance and accounting in April. She brings with her twenty-five years of accounting and human resources experience. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science in accounting and business from SUNY Plattsburgh in Plattsburgh, New York.
Gibbs recently relocated from the Adirondacks in upstate New York and now resides in Arlington, Virginia. She enjoys spending her spare time with her children, sisters, and lifelong friends, as well as traveling, playing pickleball, walking her dog, and working in her gardens.
Sarah Adler, Digital and eLearning Manager
Sarah Adler joined TEI in April as its digital and e-learning manager. Adler focuses on TEI’s educational and event offerings, emphasizing a commitment to facilitating learning experiences and ensuring accessibility in education. Her expertise lies in blending technology tools with pedagogical strategies to create engaging learning environments. Prior to joining TEI, Adler honed her skills at an association management company, where she managed programming and educational strategies for multiple associations.
Adler holds a master’s degree in education and human development from George Washington University. Having lived and worked in France for multiple years, she brings a global perspective to her work, enhancing cultural understanding and inclusivity.
